She has also been conducting research in Belize since 1998. Gilroy is the Belizean boat captain and field assistant. He has lived in the Drowned Cayes for many years and knows the local waters extremely well. Brian is a logistics intern from South Carolina. He has recently graduated from Coastal Carolina University and will be in Belize from January until April. I am a logistics intern from British Columbia, Canada. I recently graduated from Simon Fraser University and will be in Belize from January until April. The volunteers come from many different countries and backgrounds and assist with the project for two-week intervals. They pay for their trip either through scholarships, corporate fellowship, or by self-funding.
